Come and join us for a pottery throwing workshop, guaranteed to unleash the artist in you!
These are 2 hour sessions are taught in small groups of up to 5 people by experienced potter Nicola Bradburn. The class is designed to give you an introduction to throwing on a pottery wheel. You will receive expert tuition on how to wedge, centre and shape the clay into a cylinder - the starting point for all shapes!
After a short drink break you will be able to practice further, with our
tutor on hand to advise you! At the end of the workshop you can choose your favourite two items to be finished off and bisque fired. You can come back to paint your pots in Cafe Ceramica for an additional £10 studio fee or we can add a simple clear glaze free of charge.
Classes are for over 12s only.
Beginners Clay Throwing Session
How long is the session? This session is 2.5 hours long to allow you to have a go at throwing two pots, this time also includes a short drink break and clean up time at the end!
When will my pot be ready? Your pots will be ready 3-4 weeks after your session, we will email you when it's ready for collection!
Can I paint my pot after firing? Absolutely! You can book a session with our friends at Cafe Ceramica to paint your pots. There is a £10 studio fee per person with this option. Alternatively, you can take your pot as it is or you can have use glaze it clear for no extra charge!
What should I wear? Make sure don't wear anything fancy, clay is very messy! Your nails will need to be short and make sure long hair is tied back.
